3035 CALIBER MOVMENT, WITH THE THEN IMPROVED WATER RESISTANCE RATING, THIS MODEL GOES TO 300M (100 FEET)
The 16800 is considered a transitional model as it introduced several modern features to the Submariner line while retaining some vintage characteristics.
Improved Water Resistance: It was the first Submariner to offer a 300-meter water resistance, up from the previous 200 meters.
Quickset Date Function: The Caliber 3035 movement introduced the quickset date feature, allowing the date to be set independently of the time.
Production Period: The 16800 was produced from approximately 1979 to 1989.
