The Bluesy is the two-tone Rolex Submariner Date — Oystersteel and yellow gold, blue dial, blue Cerachrom bezel. The current reference is the 126613LB; the previous generation is the 116613LB. Two-tone fell out of fashion for twenty years and came back hard. The blue against the gold is what makes this one work where other Rolesor combinations can look dated — it reads as a dress watch that happens to be waterproof to 300 metres.

The Bluesy is the two-tone Rolex Submariner Date — Oystersteel and yellow gold, with a blue dial and a matching blue bezel. The current reference is the 126613LB in the 41mm case; the 116613LB that preceded it is 40mm, and the solid yellow gold version is the 116618LB.
It is the Submariner that is least like a tool watch and, for that reason, the one people either dismiss on paper or buy the moment they try it on.
Two-tone, done properly
Rolex calls the steel and yellow gold combination Rolesor. On the Bluesy it means a gold bezel, crown and centre bracelet links against an Oystersteel case and outer links, with the blue Cerachrom insert and a blue sunburst dial tying it together. The 116613LB arrived in 2013 with the ceramic bezel; the 126613LB replaced it in 2020 with the wider 41mm case and the calibre 3235.
How it wears
The gold adds real weight, and the blue changes character constantly — near-black in low light, bright and metallic in sun. It reads as a dress watch far more readily than a black Submariner does, while keeping the same 300m case and Glidelock clasp underneath.
What to check
Two-tone watches show handling on the gold first: look closely at the bezel edge, the crown and the clasp. Check the dial for consistent colour with no fading at the edges, and confirm the bezel insert has no chips. As always, establish the box and papers position before agreeing a price.
