The Starbucks is the Rolex Submariner Date reference 126610LV — 41mm Oystersteel, black dial, green Cerachrom bezel. It arrived in 2020 when Rolex replaced the Hulk, which had paired a green bezel with a green dial. Collectors named the new combination after the coffee chain’s green-on-black logo; some call it the Cermit. It uses the current Submariner case and the calibre 3235, with about 70 hours of power reserve and the Glidelock clasp that adjusts without tools. The green bezel reads almost black indoors and only shows its colour in sunlight, which is much of the appeal — it is a green watch that does not announce itself. The 2020 Submariner update
In 2020 Rolex revised the whole Submariner line: the case grew from 40mm to 41mm, the lugs were slimmed, and the calibre 3235 replaced the 3135, bringing the power reserve to roughly 70 hours. The 126610LV came out of that update, carrying the green bezel forward from the Hulk but returning to a black dial. The Glidelock clasp adjusts the bracelet by small increments without tools, which matters more in practice than most specifications do.
Starbucks, Hulk, Kermit
Three green Submariners are easily confused. The Kermit, reference 16610LV, came in 2003 for the model’s fiftieth anniversary with a green aluminium bezel and a black dial. The Hulk, 116610LV, followed in 2010 with green ceramic and a green dial. The Starbucks, 126610LV, is the current one: green ceramic, black dial, 41mm case. What to check
Confirm the bezel insert is unchipped at the edges and that it turns in one direction only, with no back-play. Check the Glidelock functions through its full range. Establish the box and papers position before agreeing a price, and note that the 41mm case wears larger than the number suggests because of the slimmer lugs.
